The Elections Officer is a short term appointment by the board.

The Elections Officer should be a member who will not be running in the coming election.

The 4 officers that are elected are President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

We also elect Board Members. The number of Board Members can vary but there's an upper and lower limit which is set in the bylaws.

The 4 officers are automatically board members.

The other positions (Training Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Equipment Coordinator, Preplan Committee Chair, etc.) are not elected. They are appointed by the board, usually at the first board meeting after the elections. The rationale is that the board needs to be able to change these appointments when someone is no longer able to carry it on, perhaps mid-term, such as when I resigned as Training Coordinator and you took it on.

You don't have to be a board member to take on one of these appointments or vice versa.

TaskDescriptions lists some of the positions.
