Course Name: Search and Rescue Fundamentals

Description:

Also known as ERI SAR Basics, SAR Fundamentals is the introductory course that covers all the basic material that a SAR worker needs to know. It includes both classroom and outdoor exercises. A provincially recognized, SAR Alberta certificate is issued for satisfactory completion of the course.

Offered To:

All interested persons - search and rescue workers, government workers, and members of the public.

Up to 7 days before the course (February 3), deposits received from search and rescue workers from any SAR Alberta member organization are given priority. After 7 days before the course, seats are allocated in the order deposits are received.

Brett Wuth and 4 guest instructors

Place: Pincher Creek.

Corequisites:

By the 2nd weekend of the SAR Fundamentals course, the student must have completed separately and show an ICS 100 certificate. This approximately 3 hour course is available from multiple sources, including for free on-line from the Alberta government.
