A critique was held for the mock search. The critique itself was a training session as part of the SAR Basics course.

No Call-Out issues.
Pre-Planning:
- no issues
 
Resources / Equipment:
- one radio was not fully charged, able to change battery
 -  real time tracking - only 5 of 6 teams deployed
- cell phone booster worked inconsistently
 - one was not configured to transmit
 
 
- simulated: quad didn't work
 
first team on site: 
- did not have complete first aid kit
 
-  did not brief what was in first aid pack before deploying.  Assumed it was only hypothermia kit.
- suggestion: external label
 
 
-  map datum: GPS was configured wrong
- emphasize in mock search
 
 
-  search techniques
-  could have utilized sound search more
- subject noted he could hear some voices early on

- lot of time waiting for opportunity to send message

- need more practice with using GPS, to be more comfortable
 
- S5 was left looking for clues while extraction was happening

- could have signs set out to indicate route
 - suggest symbol like triangle, colour
