Friday, October 23, 2009.

Similar to what we did last month for Transalta, Canadian Hydro is giving a tour of their wind turbines at Cowley Ridge for PCSAR and Pincher Creek Emergency Services members who are willing to be part of the joint rope rescue team. The tour will allow us to become familiar with the structures, and discussion rescue scenarios. Anticipate ascending a tower. For more information contact Brett Wuth.

Meeting at 13:00 at the fire hall.

[edit] Synopsis

There was a miscommunication. Canadian Hydro (now part of Transalta) was taking training with Enmax at their Kettles Hills facility. Practiced self extrication. The training was at 10:00 not 13:00, so when we came, they were finished. The wind was too high to allow us a tour and review of rescue scenarios. Instead we made some contacts and had some discussions.

Attending: Brett and Brian
