Revision as of 19:48, 1 October 2013

Continuation of previous mock search with some change ups.

Changes:

  • Subject is able to report their own location by cell phone
  • The barbed wire fence is impassable. Pretend that everything south of the fence at the south boundary of segments 18 and 19 is impenetrable thickets. (The barbed wire fence has been flagged with yellow tape to remind not to cross).
  • The only way to access and exit the area is from the Community Hall and Canyon Crescent. None of the roads to the east (on the South Hill) are accessible via foot or vehicle. (Pretend the roads don't exist.)

Initial information:

At 18:30 Search and Rescue is contacted to assist EMS in the rescue who states they have fallen down a slope and broken a leg while walking his dog on the South Hill by the water tower. Pincher Fire is currently responding to another major incident and requests PCSAR to manage the extrication until they can free up other resources. An ambulance will be available once the subject reaches the Community Hall or Canyon Crescent.

The subject says he is at the "old dump" which is a coulee that drains into the Pincher Creek straight west of the water tower. From the description, a fairly accurate location can be determined as indicated on the map below.
