* Saturday January 13 is classroom at the Provincial Building in Pincher Creek

* either Sunday January 14 or Monday January 15 (your choice, depending on seat availability) will be the field day near Castle Mountain Resort.

We're still waiting on confirmation of details, but we think the course will likely run on the weekend of January 13-14.

Both days run from 08:30-16:30 (4:30 pm).

You need to provide your own sled (snowmobile), avalanche transceiver (beacon), probe and shovel. Pincher SAR can lend transceivers if you're waiting for this course before buying one.

Do you venture out of bounds, off the trails or into the backcountry? An AST 1 is your place to start. You don't need any experience to take this course. It is a must for everyone recreating or travelling in the near or far backcountry.
