Courses
2-day Team Leader
Description: SAR-trained and experienced volunteers learn the necessary management skills to lead and conduct the resources during a search.
Analysis:
- Team Leader
- Now a SOG required course
2-day SAR Search Manager Recertification
Description: This refresher course focusing on initial response is a priority course. Teams in regions are encouraged to train together and to bring in their local police to participate in this course. Participation is limited to certified Search Managers.
Analysis:
Full certification ran 2 years ago with opportunities for recertification. Unlikely to have others interested in recertification-only at this point.
Tabletop Exercise
Description: Exercises focusing on SAR management in a regional or multi-team participation.
Analysis: Larger project than we're prepared to take on.
Provincial Exercise
Description: Live exercise utilizing resources typically involved in SAR activities. This exercise has resources from across the province.
Analysis: Larger project than we're prepared to take on.
5-day Search Manager
Description: SAR trained and experienced volunteers learn the necessary management skills to lead and conduct a search.
Analysis:

Search and Rescue Basics Train the Trainer
Description: Participants learn to teach the basic entry level search and rescue skills and theory.
