Announcement

Course Name: Search and Rescue Fundamentals

Description:

Also known as ERI SAR Basics, SAR Fundamentals is the introductory course that covers all the basic material that a SAR worker needs to know. It includes both classroom and outdoor exercises. A provincially recognized, SAR Alberta certificate is issued for satisfactory completion of the course.

Offered To:

All interested persons - search and rescue workers, government workers, and members of the public.

Brett Wuth and guest instructrors

Date:

6 days. February 25-27 and March 11-13. See detail of times on the website.

Place:

Pincher Creek.

Corequisite:

For SAR Alberta certification, the student must attain separately (before or after) and show a valid Standard First Aid certification.

Cost:

Our expected costs may be as much as (TBD: $65?) per student. Pincher Creek Search and Rescue is not receiving outside funding for this course. If a registered student does not attend, PC SAR will still have to pay fixed costs.

For non-PC SAR members, PC SAR hosts the course on a cost recovery basis. A deposit of (TBD: $65?) is currently required to hold a seat.


For PC SAR members, PC SAR will use internal funding to cover the cost of the course. A $50 deposit is still required which will be refunded if the student completes the course.

The text book may be purchased at a price of approximately $32.
