A provincial requirement is ICS 100 certification, a short introduction to the Incident Command System, which is a standardized structure organizing people and work responding to an incident. You can take the course on-line (about 3 hours). See:

http://pcsar.dyndns.org:8080/mediawiki/index.php/ICS_100

Lots of people already have this training, either because they needed it for work, because they took their SAR Basics in the last few years where we've made it a co-requisite. Make sure your membership record has it recorded that you've completed this training.

If you prefer doing the course with others (or can't get online), we'll have a workshop to work through the online course at 18:30 (6:30 pm) on Tuesday December 27 and Tuesday January 24. Let us know at pcsar-train@castrov.cuug.ab.ca if you're planning on coming so we can make sure there are enough laptops.
