  • Identify overall training needs, even before the grant is announced.
  • Wait for the grant to be announced. This is usually in September, but has been as late as December.
  • Create a new subpage for the new year.
  • Copy the major subpages of that.
  • Upload copies of all the documents we received for the grant and link them on the "Offer" subpage.
  • Do a detailed comparison of this years documents with last years, noting any substantive changes, and adjusting this procedure to match.
  • copy the descriptions of course options
  • edit to match any changes from last year
  • review and analyse need and viability of applications
  • review relevant emails for actions
  • review courses we're already planning on running
  • analyze grant offerings
  • determine which courses to apply for
  • request letters of support (requested: LASARA, SARA South Region, CSDA, SEASAR, CNPSAR; yet to be requested: none)
  • obtain quotes (or if necessary estimate)
  • work out budget for each course
  • prepare grant application
  • get Treasurer's and President's signatures
  • prepare cover letter
  • attach certificate of incorporation
  • upload files
  • if regional application, send to regional lead
  • send to OFC and SARA (firecomm@gov.ab.ca, training@saralberta.ca)
  • fax second copy for surety if close to deadline
