The national SAR conference "SARScene" will be this year in Edmonton, Wednesday-Monday October 12-17. Some of the activities: SAR Field Day – Saturday, will include a broad range of both SAR Skills competition and public outreach opportunities. Look forward to testing your skills by entering the ‘Tracking Challenge’! Content under the following broad headings/tracks – SAR Management, Responder Well Being, Technologies tools and techniques, Skills. Presentations will include – Evidence Handling, Legal Considerations, CISM, SAR Data Mapping, Cold Weather Injuries, Swift Water Safety, Social Media, unmanned aerial systems (Drones), K9 Health and Conditioning, Mountain Snowmobile SAR, Cold Water Boot Camp, and more! Our own Russ Bruder will be one of the presenters! Guess which subject... More details will be out in a while, but if you're interested, save the date.
