The national SAR conference "SARScene" will be this year in Edmonton, Wednesday-Monday October 12-17.

  • many conference presentations, including from our own Russell Bruder on snowmobile SAR.
  • a day of field exercises and demonstrations
  • a SAR skills competition
  • tracking challenge
  • courses on
    • Human Bone Identification Workshop
    • SAR Initial Actions
    • SAR Initial Actions Train the Trainer
    • Cold Water Rescue Instructors' Course
    • AdventureSmart Trainers' Workshop
  • a trade show

Some of the activities: SAR Field Day – Saturday, will include a broad range of both SAR Skills competition and public outreach opportunities. Look forward to testing your skills by entering the ‘Tracking Challenge’! Content under the following broad headings/tracks – SAR Management, Responder Well Being, Technologies tools and techniques, Skills. Presentations will include – Evidence Handling, Legal Considerations, CISM, SAR Data Mapping, Cold Weather Injuries, Swift Water Safety, Social Media, unmanned aerial systems (Drones), K9 Health and Conditioning, Mountain Snowmobile SAR, Cold Water Boot Camp, and more! Our own Russ Bruder will be one of the presenters! Guess which subject...
