I-beam rigging clamps

  • for training at Fire Hall
    • sloped I-beams, flange 4 inches wide
      • need to determine flange thickness
      • determine slope angle
    • horizontal I-beams, flange approx 7-8 inches wide
      • need to determine flange thickness
      • more accurately measure flange width
  • requirements:
    • adjustable from 4 to 8 inches
    • placeable on sloping I-beam
      • non-rolling
    • MBS: 40 kN
      • 2 person load, SSSF, pulley at top
      • = 8993 lbf
      • WLL is not the same as MBS. It has a Design Factor (DF) built in for safety. That factor is not documented; it should be at least 5. But without specification, we assume that the WLL must be at least 40 kN
