  • Adjusting declination on compass

2/ shooting a bearing with a compass

  • using compass

    • avoid magnetic fields
  • holding compass
    • hold flat
  • sighting
    • using mirror
    • using sighting notches
  • reading bearing
    • rotating barrel
    • "red to the bed"
    • parallax problem
