This page has some quick notes about training at Pincher SAR.
You can find out about scheduled training on the Calendar.
Typically we have a 2.5 hour training session on the first Tuesday of each month from 19:00 to 21:30 at the fire hall. Usually there is a daytime training event once a month on a weekend. During the summer months SAR hikes are scheduled.
Our yearly schedule often looks something like this
- April - Equipment orientation. The location and operation of the equipment in the possession of PCSAR. Proper transport, set up
and protocols and procedures for equipment use
- May - Rope and Knot exercise
- June - GPS exercise
- July - mid-month training replaced by a barbeque.
- August - outdoor training
- September - indoor training
- October - Annual General Meeting replaces training at regular meeting. SAR Fundamentals first weekend.
- November - SAR Fundamentals second weekend. Mock search.
- December - indoor training as weather is unpredictable
