It's always hard to plan wilderness activities in the "shoulder season". You don't know what the weather's going to do to you.

One approach is to stay low in the hills. Choosing places where the weather will more likely be mild.

Another approach is to choose high in mountains, where the snow is more likely to be and stay.

A third approach is to choose a short activity, or series of short activities where the impact of weather can be accommodated.
