Helping Out/Call Out

From PCSAR

Jump to: navigation, search

For many incidents, we really need a larger pool of people that can help out the call-out team. The call-out team helps get things going faster and gets our responders on-scene sooner. When we can't find a person from the call-out team that's available, our search managers take this on, and it delays our response.

Do you know someone who would be willing to be a part of search and rescue, but not necessarily work in the field? Their job would be to notify our members of an incident and coordinate their arrival at the search site or marshaling spot. This involves computer and telephone work from home or office. Calls are often late at night and sometimes during business hours. There's a team, so they don't have to take every call if they're unavailable, and when they're tired out, they can pass it on to someone else to take over.
