If you're willing, I'm asking you to take the lead on planning all of this. The other instructors will be working to your direction.

You'll need to set up the clues for all the Search Types. You may want to use the same map and layout as last time. Map is on the link above.

However, there may be some snow cover, so the kind of clues may be a bit different. Or white index cards may be very appropriate on white snow. We may have to adapt and improvise.

You may want to cover the area with tracks to avoid having the searchers use tracking instead of Type 1 - 4 search techniques.

  • head to venue (Beauvais Lake)
  • split into teams
  • head to first station

There are 3 stations:

  • for Type 1 Search,
  • for Type 4 Search,
  • for Compass Practical.

The students are split into 3 teams and rotated through each station.
