Training/Helicopter/Cheat sheet

Offered by another organization:

Lat Long of Location for landing and possibly of incident, no UTM's
Local Weather conditions
Flagging tape or something to indicate winds tied to antennae or tree
Secure all loose items and people (articles in back of truck commonly missed)
Will do a power check at accident site before we land at the staging
We cannot see power lines, let us know what hazards there are on the site
You may be told to get ready to fly in so be prepared before we land
Do not approach the machine unless directed to do so by the pilot or safety officer.
Don't assume we see anything, anyone should feel that they can speak up and point out a hazard.
Most dangers time is starting and stopping the machine when the blades hang lower than normal. Do not approach machine at this time.
In Snow we will need a reference at the pilots door. Staff should be in a heli huddle in these situations and not move until the pilots is on the ground and directs them to do so.
If walking patients over, tell them to grab the belt of the person in front of them and walk like ducklings.
NO BEAR SPRAY in the aircraft. This must go in the basket.
